IF YOU DO SOMETHING OUT OF DUTY, IT WILL DEPLETE YOU

BUT IF YOU DO SOMETHING OUT OF LOVE, IT WILL ENERGIZE YOU

I received my undergraduate degree in Business from Florida State University, and a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Texas and have been a certified Practical Parent Educator since 2007.  I currently work with Dr. Shannon E. Taylor performing neuropsychological assessments and am in private practice doing Individual and Family Systems Therapy for children 12 and older, adolescents, and adults.  My specialties lie in treating people experiencing parenting issues, symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, anger, and other adjustment disorders utilizing Psychoeducational and Cognitive Behavioral therapy.  Additionally, I have extensive training and experience in public speaking on a myriad of topics to groups ranging in size from a small intimate setting to a large corporate event.

Oftentimes eclectic in my counseling approach to meet the needs of my clients, my roots and fundamental beliefs are based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy.  These theories posit that our thoughts affect our feelings and our feelings influence our behaviors.  By getting to the root of what troubles us, we are empowered to make a difference in our own lives.

In short, nothing changes, if nothing changes.

My calling is to actively listen to people with empathy in a comfortable, non-judgmental environment.  In doing so, I am equipped to help them identify ways to live their best lives through catharsis and behavioral change to bring balance to their whole selves; mind, body, and spirit.
