I specialize in Parenting and Executive Function deficits. However, things like stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem problems, boundaries, mood regulation, anger, and a general feeling of "out of whack" come with the territory. My training and experience is extensive, so together we can decide if I am the best therapist for your specific needs.

Is there paperwork?
Yes. Please print and complete the forms on the FORMS page of my website, and bring them with you to your first appointment.
We will discuss what you shared in the paperwork and get to know each other in the first session.

What is your theoretical orientation?
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT for the most part.
I believe your thoughts control your feelings, and your feelings control how you choose to act. I try to help you identify distorted thoughts, then replace them with more rational, realistic thoughts, which will elicit more positive feelings, leading you to make more productive life choices. Basically, we use our minds (cognitive) to affect change in our actions (behavioral) and create more joy and balance in our lives.
Do I just tell you what's wrong and you give me advice?
Not really. I just help you discover what's not working, and how to make it work again. Read on.
Have you ever tried to help an emerging butterfly out of its cocoon? If you have, then you know it doesn't end well! You see, butterflies have to do their own work to get out of their cocoon and emerge a beautiful, soaring, new creation. I look at counseling the same way. If I could "do it for you", you would never find real joy, and never be all you're meant to be. By walking along side you, and gently guiding you, I allow you the freedom to be who you are, experience the now, and help you become everything you want to in order to live an authentic, enriched, happy life. Like the butterfly, you grow and can change for a lifetime by doing your own work.
Do I have to lie on a couch while you ask questions about my childhood?
You can lie down if you want to! But don't worry. It's more like friends having coffee.

How long are appointments? Am I committed for life?
Appointments are scheduled for one hour: 50 minutes of talk time, and 10 minutes for scheduling and payment arrangement
Most people like to meet weekly. You might decide you would like to meet more often like twice per week. Eventually, and at your discretion, sessions will taper off to once every other week to monthly check ups or eventual termination. The goal is to get you out of therapy and on your way to a more fulfilling life.
How much will it cost?
Surprisingly, therapy with me is very affordable.
I am in network for Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance holders. Call or email, and I will contact your insurance for you and let you know exactly what your coverage is before your appointment.
I offer a reduced rate for clients with other insurance carriers or who prefer not to file insurance.
